The new musical THE NINE FATHERS OF ARIEL is currently undergoing a New York workshop, concluding with invited rehearsals for industry members on November 6 and 7.

Directed and choreographed by Graciela Daniele (Once on This Island, Ragtime), with book and lyrics by Ellen Fitzhugh (Herringbone, Grind), and music by Michael John LaChiusa (Giant, The Wild Party - pictured left), THE NINE FATHERS OF ARIEL is adapted from the short story "Los Minestreles" by acclaimed Argentinian writer Luisa Valenzuela. The creative team for the workshop also includes Or Matias (Musical Director), Tara Rubin (Casting Director), and Madeleine Kelly (Associate Choreographer).

THE NINE FATHERS OF ARIEL is a new musical that tells the story of a mother's love for her young son, as she uses everything in her power to protect and nurture him in a war-obsessed world.

The workshop cast will feature Joe Carroll, Josh Colley, Tyler Hanes, Gregory Haney, Sydney Harcourt, Marc Kudisch, Telly Leung, Melissa McCann, Joseph Medeiros, Julio Monge, Ari Stachel, Barbara Walsh, and Paul Whitty.
