Calpulli Mexican Dance Company celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2013, reflecting a decade of dedication to its mission of producing dance-based programming to promote the rich diversity of Mexican and Mexican-American culture heritage. Though recognized for its traditional and folkloric works, Calpulli believes its mission can also be fulfilled by exploring contemporary movement. As such, it plans to continue the commissioning of new contemporary and fusion works by Latino choreographers. Calpulli's first commissioned works are with Francisco Graciano.

Francisco Graciano is currently a member of the Paul Taylor Dance Company. He has a B.F.A. in Dance from Stephens College and has performed with numerous choreographers and dance companies in New York. He is thrilled to be working with Calpulli Mexican Dance Company for the second time.

Noemy Hernandez is Artistic Director of Calpulli Mexican Dance Company. She holds a B.F.A. in Dance with an emphasis in Choreography from the University of California, Irvine. She has performed with numerous choreographers in California, and works in New York City as a choreographer and teaching artist.

ACB Dance Company will be showcasing several exciting and diverse dances when it performs at Green Space's Take Root performance series this April 6th. The company will be performing an intense and emotionally driven work titled TINTINNABULI set to music by composer Arvo Pärt. Additional dances include the light and mercuriAl Alloy, and the romantic LIFELINE duet, closing with INISHLACKEN, an uplifting work addressing strength of community set to music by Bill Whelan.

ACB Dance Company, founded in 2012, is a classically based modern dance company exploring the universal human condition through expansive and emotionally driven movement grounded in American modern dance. The healing and transformational power of the arts inspires the company to work with diverse groups within the community, in addition to collaborative efforts with other artists. Under the artistic direction of Alison Cook Beatty, her choreography has been commissioned by companies such as Ballet Next, Columbia Ballet Collaborative, and Carolina Ballet Theater, her work most recently performed by Ballet Next at The Joyce Theater, 92nd Street Y and Kaatsbaan. The company has performed at SUNY Purchase, Syracuse University, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Dumbo Dance Festival, Milford Fine Arts Council, PMT Spring Series, Trisklion Arts Center, Beauty in Motion Dance Lab, MishMash201, Astoria Dance Festival, Genesis Dance Project, Perceptions Dance Festival, NYC10 Dance and The Hatch Series. Born in Connecticut, Alison attended The Boston Conservatory where she earned a BFA in Dance and was awarded The Ruth Sandholm Ambrose Scholarship Award, among other scholarships. Alison has worked with numerous dance companies and choreographers, including Paul Taylor's Taylor 2 Dance Company, remaining there until 2008, performing and teaching Mr. Taylor's repertoire nationally and internationally. During that time, she also performed with The Paul Taylor Dance Company. Alison enjoys teaching dance to people of all ages and abilities. She is currently on faculty at The Joffrey Ballet School and Dance In Grandma's Attic.

FERTILE GROUND is a monthly new works showcase for emerging and established artists now in its 7th season, producing the work of over 50 choreographers each year. This non-curated performance event features five-six choreographers each evening, and includes a post-performance discussion with wine and cheese, moderated by Green Space's Artistic Director, Valerie Green.
