Green Hosts May 8 'New Voices,' Starring Original 'Voices'

On May 8th, 'Monday Nights, New Voices' will celebrate and honor the original "Voices" at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre at 7 PM.

Taking part in the evening will be Jersey Boys' Sara Schmidt, Wicked's Kathy Deitch, Zakiya Young, Lauren Thomas, Lestat's Nikki Renee Daniels. Wicked's Jenna Leigh Green will host the evening, as well as perform. Each performer will sing new material by new writers, including Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan, Sam Davis and Randy Buck, Barbara Anselmi and Ernie Lijoi, I Love You Because's David Austin, Jill Abramovitz and Joy Son and Dan Lipton and David Rossmer. The composers (with the exception of Davis and Buck) will accompany the performers.

"Last month marked a year since composer Scott Alan set out to produce the monthly series that showcases up and coming talent at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre and teams them with established and up and coming composers in a one night only event. In the year since its debut, many of todays most acclaimed Broadway stars and composers have joined together to honor the New Voices for there exciting achievments and to celebrate their exciting future," state press notes. "The show has gone on to see many of its performers star on Broadway, touring productions and off-Broadway."
