Graham Rowat has joined the cast of Reprise! Broadway's Best's upcoming staged concert presentation of Baby, which will be performed one night only, Monday, February 5 at 8:00pm at the Freud Playhouse at UCLA.
Rowat joins previously announced Tony Award-nominee Alice Ripley (Broadway's Side Show, The Dead, who will star as Pam, Christopher McDonald (Broadway's Chicago) as Alan, Daniel Tatar (The Last Five Years, Elegies) as Danny, Tony Award-winner Faith Prince (Guys and Dolls, Falsettoland) as Arlene, and Kerry Butler (Hairspray, Les Miserables) as Lizzie.
Ensemble members Sue Goodman, Alix Korey, Michael Kostroff, Amy Ryder and John Sloman complete the cast.
Rowat has appeared on Broadway in Dracula, the Musical and Beauty and the Beast. Other credits include The Devil's Disciple at the Shaw Festival, 1776 at Ford's Theatre and Les Miserables on tour, as well as Off-Broadway's The Thing About Men and White Christmas in San Francisco.
Baby will be presented as Reprise!'s second Marvelous Musical Monday production of its 10th anniversary season. Baby, with book by Sybille Pearson, music by David Shire and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr., will feature musical direction by Georgia Stitt. The show will be directed by Kevin Chamberlin.
Baby, which received 7 Tony Award nominations, "tells the story of three couples at different stages of their lives as they deal with the painful, rewarding and agonizingly funny consequences of having a child. This smart, energetic show with loads of charm has an hysterically insightful book and a tuneful, contemporary score of show-stopping numbers by David Shire and Richard Maltby, Jr. (Starting Here, Starting Now, Closer Than Ever and big, The Musical)," press materials state.
