A benefit concert for the exciting new project that brings Broadway performers as teaching artists to Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa will take place on Monday, October 6th at 7:30 PM at the Peter Norton Symphony Space (2527 Broadway at 95th Street)

The concert will feature the talents of:

Bongi Duma (The Lion King)
Eden Espinosa (Rent)
Renee Elise Goldsberry (Rent)
Mandy Gonzalez (In the Heights)
Frankie James Grande (Mamma Mia)
Adam Kantor (Rent)
Kendra Kassebaum (Wicked)
Norm Lewis (The Little Mermaid)
Tshidi Manye (The Lion King)
Julia Murney (Wicked)
S'Bu Ngema (The Lion King)
Billy Porter (Ghetto Superstar)
Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde)
Lisa Nicole Wilkerson (The Lion King)
Choreography by Dance Theater X's Charles Anderson

And world-premiere songs based on essays written by South African students by:

The concert will be directed by Jen Bender (The Lion King) with music direction by Brad Haak (Mary Poppins)

Broadway in South Africa aims to develop a cross-cultural exchange between youth who are in need and artists who seek to use their talents for change. The project is comprised of professional artists who believe that, through performance and outreach, art can impact the development of youth throughout the world and increase the potential for global cooperation and communication.
