Musical theater writer Joe Iconis will play a show on March 4th, 7:30pm at Joe's Pub.  The concert will feature his songs performed by various musical theater performers, and by Iconis himself.

"It'll just be Joe at a piano, singing and playing for your listening pleasure his musical theater songs about pornos, garage bands, ADD, and sweet, sweet love. He'll be doing cuts from his garage band musical, The Black Suits, a bunch of old favorites, and even a couple fresh new tunes. Featuring some super special guest stars, as well as members of Joe's regular posse of musical theater-rock 'n' rolling- show tune-punks, this show promises to be the greatest event in the history of music, theater, and the world," state press materials.

Special guests include: Annie Golden (Hair; Assassins), Celia Keenan-Bolger (Spelling Bee; Les Miz), Lorinda Lisitza (Mother Courage; Triumphant Baby!), Jason F. Williams (Harms Way, Frigid Festival), Michael Kadin Craig (The 60's Project, Goodspeed), Lance Rubin (The Opposite of Sex, Williamstown), and Matt Hinkley (tick, tick… Boom!, Regional)

"Things to Ruin," a revue of Iconis' songs directed by John Simpkins, recently sold out the Pub after playing several sold out nights at Ars Nova.  The show will return to Joe's Pub for several night run this spring.

Iconis, who got his MFA from the NYU/Tisch Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program, is the recipient of a 2006 Jonathan Larson Award and a 2006 Daryl Roth Award.  His garage-band rock musical, The Black Suits--for which he wrote music, lyrics, and co-wrote the book with Robert Maddock--will be seen next year at the MCC.

Joe's Pub at The Public Theater is located at 425 Lafayette St. NYC.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by phone at (212) 967-7555, on line at www.joespub.com, or in person at the Public Theater Box Office (from 1pm to 6pm), or Joe's Pub (from 6pm to 10pm.)
