Godfrey keeps the laughs rolling in his new one-hour World Premiere Stand-Up Special "Godfrey: Black By Accident," debuting on Saturday, August 27 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on COMEDY CENTRAL.

Filmed at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City, Godfrey shows the world just how comical everyday activities can be when joking about surviving the summer heat, struggling with an umbrella in the rain and reacting to someone begging for money. While singing his renditions of the Russian, Jamaican and Chinese national anthems, Godfrey points out the ridiculousness of the Olympic Medal Ceremony. Describing his frustrations with bedding - his dislike for fitted bed sheets ("How do you fold that thing?") as well as comforters, ("the hottest blanket that man has ever brought to this planet") are just a few topics hilariously brought to discussion in his first ever one-hour COMEDY CENTRAL special.

On Tuesday, August 30, "Godfrey: Black By Accident" will be released nationwide on DVD by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment and download-to-own including iTunes and Amazon Video On Demand. In addition, the special will be available in high definition on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Store. The "Godfrey: Black By Accident" DVD is uncensored and extended with over 30 minutes of material not seen on COMEDY CENTRAL, plus special features that include an interview with Godfrey and onstage antics with the makeup lady.

Leading up to the on-air premiere, COMEDY CENTRAL Stand-Up will feature preview clips from the special.

Upon his arrival in New York, Godfrey's first job was as a warm up comedian for "The Cosby Show." Godfrey's film roles include "Zoolander," "Johnson Family Vacation," "The Cook Out," "Phat Girlz" and "Soul Plane." Godfrey is perhaps best known for his role as the "7UP Guy" in the popular 7UP national campaign, which lasted two years and included Super Bowl commercials. His television work includes BET's "ComicView," Bravo's "The It Factor," Host of "MTV Spring Break," "The Carson Daly Show," "Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen" and "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents: Godfrey." He has also made a guest appearance on NBC's "30 Rock," and can be seen regularly as a commentator on various VH1 series and E!'s "Chelsea Lately." Most recently, Godfrey has been shooting a recurring role on the new Louis CK series, "Louie," on FX.

"Godfrey: Black By Accident" is produced by Jeff Thorsen for Parallel Entertainment and ROAR. The special is executive produced by Bernard Cahill, Jordan Tilzer, Alan Blomquist and Godfrey and directed by Ben Bowman.

COMEDY CENTRAL, the only all-comedy network, currently is seen in more than 98 million homes nationwide. COMEDY CENTRAL is owned by, and is a registered trademark of, Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned division of Viacom Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) MTV Networks.
