Go Comedy! For A Cure 24 hour improv marathon comes to Ferndale Friday & Saturday.
Event will welcome improvisers from across Metro Detroit including Tim Robinson of Saturday Night Live and featured guests WDET's Craig Fahle and Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson (FERNDALE MI) Tonight, improvisers from across metro Detroit will perform on stage for 24 hours during Go Comedy! For A Cure, a 24-hour improv marathon to benefit Gilda's Club, The American Cancer Society and the Tim Hayden Memorial Scholarship Fund, which gives scholarships to graduating Kettering High School students who are going on to study Theater. The marathon begins at 6:00pm and continues through 6:00pm Saturday, December 28. Tickets ($10-$20) are available in performance blocks online at www.gocomedy.net or in person at the Go Comedy! box office. A $100, 24-hour pass is also available.
In 2008, The Detroit improv community said goodbye to a dear friend and colleague when Tim Hayden lost his battle with cancer. In addition to his work in the Detroit improv community at Planet Ant Theatre, The Second City and other theatres, Tim was also a beloved teacher at Kettering High School in Waterford and nephew of Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. Patterson will be attending Friday's opening event in honor of his nephew.Videos
