Amanda McBroom's worldwide #1 hit song The Rose (1979) catapulted her to fame and launched her career as a singer and songwriter. Many of her compositions have also been recorded by such artists as Leanne Rimes, Barry Manilow, Judy Collins, Barbara Cook, Anne Murray, Harry Belafonte, Betty Buckley, and The Manhattan Transfer.

McBroom has an extensive background in musical and dramatic theatre, including starring in the New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and European productions of JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS, on Broadway in SEESAW, leading roles such as Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD, Desiree in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC and the title role in MAME, and she has appeared at such prestigious venues as The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, A.C.T. in San Francisco, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon, The Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, and the Pasadena Playhouse, In New York she has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Russian Tea Room, Rainbow and Stars, and as the headliner for The Melbourne Arts Festival, and with Marvin Hamlisch and The National Symphony at the Kennedy Center.

McBroom returns to her theatrical roots on the NY stage in A WOMAN OF WILL, a musical adventure of a writer faced with difficult choices in both her personal and professional life. This exuberant new musical, featuring 15 original songs, is a celebration of life, love and literature, and features a book by Amanda McBroom and Joel Silberman, lyrics by Amanda McBroom, music and direction by Joel Silberman and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Thommie Walsh.

A WOMAN OF WILL is produced by Jack & Julie Nadel and David A. Braun.

A WOMAN OF WILL is currently previewing off-Broadway at The Daryl Roth Theatre (101 East 15th Street, at Union Square) and opens on Sunday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m.
