Lemon Tree Productions is pleased to announce the world premiere production of Glimpses of the Moon, a new musical directed by Marc Bruni. Glimpses of the Moon will play an 8-week limited engagement at Off-Broadway's Oak Room in the Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street, between 5th and 6th Ave.). Performances begin Monday, January 21 and continue until Monday, March 10. Opening night is Monday, January 28 at 8PM.
Glimpses of the Moon is the first original musical created specifically for the intimate wood-paneled Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel. Set in 1922, Glimpses of the Moon follows the jazzy whirl of Manhattan society, from champagne-soaked dinner parties, to luxurious vacation cottages and back to New York's elegant hotels. "A charming romantic musical, based on one of Edith Wharton's rare comedies, Glimpses of the Moon is not without its share of heartaches. Popular but penniless, Susy Branch and her friend Nick Lansing devise a clever scheme: to marry and live off the wedding presents, while they help one another find suitable millionaires. The plan works perfectly – until they fall in love," explain press notes.Glimpses of the Moon stars Patti Murin (Xanadu) as Susy and Stephen Plunkett (Gone Missing) as Nick. The production also stars Beth Glover (OBIE and Lortel Winning Revival Counselor-at-Law) as Ellie, Laura Jordan (B'way: In My Life) as Coral, Daren Kelly (B'way: Crazy for You, Woman of the Year, Deathtrap, South Pacific) as Nelson and Glenn Peters as Streffy.Glimpses of the Moon plays every Monday at 8 pm through Monday, March 10, 2008. Begin the evening with an elegant dinner or cocktails in the Oak Room at 6:30 before the 8:00 show. Tickets are $50, plus a $30 food and beverage minimum. (A prix fixe dinner is available for $50.)
