Glenn Weiss & 61st Tonys Directing Team Win Director's Guild Award

Glenn Weiss and the directing team of the 61st  Annual Tony Awards, were honored with a Director's Guild Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Musical Variety category on Sunday evening. 

Weiss' directing team include Associate Directors Gregg  M. Gelfand, Robin Mishkin-Abrams, Ken Diego and Ricky Kirshner; as well as Stage Managers Garry W. Hood, Peter Epstein, Andrew Feigen, Lynn Finkel, Doug Fogel, Jeffry Gitter, Dear Gordon, Arthur Lewis, Tony Mirante, Jeff Pearl, Rose Riggins and Lauren Class Schneider

This is Mr. Weiss' fifth DGA nomination.  He was previously nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety in 2006 for The 60th Annual Tony Awards, in 2005 for The 59th Annual Tony Awards, in 2002 for The 56th Annual Tony Awards, and in 2001 for The 55th Annual Tony Awards.

The 62nd Annual American Theatre Wing's Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards will be broadcast live on the CBS television network from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 15, 2008.
