Glenn Miller set the standard for the big bands. Today, The Glenn Miller Orchestra is still one of the greatest bands of all time, and playing some of the biggest hits: “Moonlight Serenade”, “Tuxedo Junction”, “In the Mood”, “A String of Pearls”, “Chattanooga Choo Choo”. Featuring vocals by the MOONLIGHT SERENADERS. Under the direction of trombonist, LARRY O”BRIEN, it is the most popular and sought- after Big Band.
The legendary Glenn Miller was one of the most successful of all the dance band leaders back in the swing era of the 1930s and 40’s. A matchless string of hit records, the constant impact of radio broadcasts, and the drawing power at theatres, hotels, and dance pavilions built and sustained the momentum of popularity. At the height of the Orchestra’s popularity, He disbanded the band to volunteer for the Army. He then organized the famous Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band. It went to Europe to entertain servicemen and then on December 15, 1944, he was lost in the disappearance of the single- engine plane bound for France. Because of popular demand, the Miller estate authorized the formation of the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956. Most of the Band’s shows are sell outs. It has proven staying power, and its popularity has never seemed to wane. The Miller sound lives forever
