Two special performances of Martin McDonagh's The Pillowman and Somerset Maugham's The Constant Wife will benefit the Actors' Fund of America. Glengarry Glen Ross' benefit performance will be on Sunday, August 14th at 8 PM, and the Constant Wife performance will be held on Sunday, August 21st at 7:30 PM.
Glengarry Glen Ross,
which won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play, is currently
running at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre
(242 W. 45th St.), where it opened on May 1st after beginning
previews on April 8th. Liev Schreiber also received a Tony Award for
his performance; actors Alan Alda, Gordon Clapp and director Joe
Mantello were also nominated, as was scenic designer Santo Loquasto.
The show follows a group of salesmen as they claw, scheme and fight for
their dignity in the 1980s; it also features Jeffrey Tambor, Frederick
Weller, Tom Wopat, and Jordan Lage. Maugham's The Constant Wife concerns the strategic marital maneuvers that ensue when a wife suspects her husband is being unfaithful to her...with her best friend. The show stars Kate Burton, Lynn Redgrave, Kathryn Meisle, Michael Cumpsty, John Dossett and Enid Graham. A Roundabout Theatre Company production, the genteel comedy is currently playing at the American Airlines Theatre (227 W. 42nd Street). For 123 years, The Actors' Fund
