It's everyone's favorite time of the year, Gleeks! Sectionals are here, and they are full of surprises! Will invites Emma to join him and New Directions at Sectionals, calling her their "good luck charm", only to have Emma pick apart his typical choices for Sectionals, claiming there's more talent there than he's letting shine. Upon Emma's comments, Mr. Schue takes Emma's words to heart and gives the big couple duet to Sam and Quinn, much to Finn and Rachel's dismay.  By the end of rehearsal, Santana and Rachel get into an argument, ending with Santana revealing how she and Finn had sex the previous year, shocking Rachel and stunning Finn.

After being officially welcomed into the Warblers, Kurt comes to find that his creative voice is almost as stifled as it was back at McKinley, but grins and bares it. During a couple's meeting with Emma, Rachel and Finn talk out the issues they have since Santana revealed she slept with Finn.  After being assigned the task of being a featured dancer with Mike at Sectionals, Brittany crumbles under the pressure, but Artie comes to her rescue with his "magic comb".

In a time of desperation, Will turns to Puck with the challenge of finding a twelfth person to fill Kurt's vacant spot in New Directions. Noticing Kurt's frustration with how his first rehearsal with the Warblers went, Blaine informs him that the council of seniors has offered him the chance to audition for a solo for Sectionals.  Puck, taking his 'badassador' duties seriously, takes to the locker room in an attempt to garner a member from the football team, only to be locked in a port-o-potty for the night.  At rehearsal, the Glee Clubbers voice their frustration with the present situation, when Mr. Schuester flips out at the selfish actions of the Glee Clubbers.  AV girl Lauren rescues Puck from his port-o-potty prison and agrees (with some conditions) to join New Directions as the twelfth member.

Nervous about his chance to audition for a solo with the Warblers, Kurt turns to Rachel for help, who picks "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" (from Evita) to be Kurt's audition piece.  After the audition, Kurt's hopes are dashed when the Warbler's pass on his audition by claiming that he was "trying to hard".  As the Glee Clubbers board the bus to Sectionals, Emma comes to tell Will that she will not be attending Sectionals due to Carl's feelings about it not being good.

Before the competition, Kurt and Rachel have a heart to heart, ending in a warm embrace before the competition begins.  The Hipsters perform "The Living Years" (originally sung by Mike and the Mechanics), while the Warblers perform "Hey Soul Sister" (originally sung by Train), which garners a standing ovation from New Directions in support of Kurt.

The nerves and tensions are high in the New Directions waiting room, but Mr. Schuester brings them back to reality just in time to the hit the stage.  The performance opens with Sam and Quinn singing "I Had the Time of My Life" (from 'Dirty Dancing'), which leads into Santana singing 'Valerie' (originally sung by Amy Winehouse), while Mike and Brittany take to the dance floor.

When the results are announced: The Hipsters take third place, while The New Directions and The Warblers tie for first place, making both glee clubs winners. When Will comes to share his success at Sectionals with Emma, she reveals that she and Carl got married in Las Vegas during that weekend, stunning Will. Ready to get their relationship back on track, Finn declares to Rachel that there be no more lies between them, causing Rachel to reveal how she hooked with Puck to make him angry. The fall out of the truth being revealed hits Rachel hard as Finn breaks up with and storms off.  Wanting to celebrate in song, Mr. Schuester offers Rachel the chance to finally sing solo, but she offers up the chance to the unsung Tina and Mercedes.  The two 'unsung ladies' take their shining moment in stride by singing 'Dog Days Are Over' (originally sung by Florence and the Machine).

Good old Sectionals, always bringing the music and the chaos.  The battle is now on for Regionals and Nationals!

Get ready to deck the halls, Gleeks. Next week, we're decking the halls and shouting with glee for the Glee Christmas episode! Until next week, Gleeks!
