Guilty Pleasures - everyone has them, even if some of us aren't all that ashamed of our love of those things people tend to deny they like. Me? I love Grease 2 and I'm not in the least bit ashamed, because well - it's the best ever. Tonight, Glee celebrates all things guilty pleasure - all those songs on your iPod you claim you "don't know where they came from" or that song you change on the radio dial unless you're alone, then you jam away like you're in it to win it. Gather ye, guilty pleasure lovers and haters - it's time to face the music. Wham!
Blaine continues to crush on Sam, but when he confronts Sam about how he spotted him stealing pasta, Sam reveals he has a guilty pleasure for pasta art - making pasta art of Emma Stone, Leanne Rimes, and even Kurt. When Sam asks Blaine what his guilty pleasure is, Blaine fumbles and says 'Wham', when in fact he means Sam, but this prompts the duo known as Blam to propose a guilty pleasure week for glee club since Mr. Schue is 'out sick'. Kicking off the guilty pleasure goodness is Sam and Blaine with 'Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go)" - all Technicolor 80's glory! BLAM! Brittany calls Kitty on her bitchy ways, and gets her on Fondue for Two and they dish guilty pleasures (including all of the Bring It On films), but Kitty's guiltiest pleasure is kept between the two and the fondue. Kurt's acting class calls for embarrassing moments, but Kurt won't admit to owning and using a boyfriend pillow as his greatest embarrassing secret, but one would think sweating to the oldies with Richard Simmons would be the worst, but we'll just try and forget that one.
Sam pulls Blaine aside and confines in him that he's a Fanilow, despite Blaine's original thought that he's into him. In New York, Santana and Kurt snip and snap, but Kurt bows to Santana when she threatens to spill Brody's secret to a lovelorn Rachel, thus Santana earns more self-space - score one for Satan! Santana convinces Rachel to pull a prank on Kurt, but the girls come upon Kurt cuddling with his boyfriend pillow, that he has named Bruce, the whole thing creeping out both Santana and Rachel. Brittany reveals to the ladies of glee club that Kitty's guilty pleasure is the Spice Girls, thus the ladies decide to spice up their lives by performing a Spice Girls number in glee club. Sam takes to the floor with "Copacabana" and unleashes his inner Fanilow and unearthing an inner Fanilow movement in the glee club, pleasing Fanilow loving Sam.
Sam confronts Blaine about what his true guilty pleasure, while the ladies try and decide which Spice Girl they are, but a crisis with Jake doing a Chris Brown songs stop the party and causes the ladies of glee club to confront him on his choice, the most defensive being Marley. Kurt gets Santana and Rachel their own boyfriend pillows, well - girlfriend pillow in Santana's case, but when Rachel claims she'll get back together with Brody, Santana spills on Brody's secret, but when Kurt doesn't deny knowing, Rachel is furious. Blaine performs "Against All Odd" by Phil Collins, but despite saying it's about Kurt and an inner love of Phil Collins, most can tell it's about Sam, except you know - Sam.
The GleeSpice Girls take to the floor with 'Wannabe' and shower the choir room with girl power and Spice Girls love, while Jake takes the floor after - not with Chris Brown, but Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative". Despite knowing Tina's Small Wonder reference, Jake didn't quite realize how Bobby Brown isn't much of a step up from Chris Brown, but Marley forgives him and Jarley feels all around. Rachel confronts Brody, which ends in Brody revealing that Finn beat him up, as Rachel basically confirms she was using Brody to make Finn jealous as well as fill her broken heart. With "Creep" by Radiohead, Rachel and Brody end their relationship - well, I think they do. Sam proves he's a lot smarter than he seems by calling Blaine on his guilty pleasure being him, but Sam is okay with it and they hug it out. Blam? Blam! Kurt and Santana watch some Facts of Life, before Rachel arrives to tell all about ending things with Brody, and officially welcome Santana as their permanent roommate. Playing the pity card, Rachel picks Mamma Mia, which prompts a little sing-a-long to the title tune, which just SO happens to be the final song of Guilty Pleasure at McKinley.
Mamma Mia - here we go again! It's time for another brief break from our little world, but don't fret, Gleeks - we shall return on April 11th! Until then, Gleeks.
