On Friday, March 29th from 5:30-7:30 PM, the Gladstone Arts Commission will host an art opening for new works by Nicole Mauser at the Gladstone Community Center, located at 6901 N. Holmes. Nicole Mauser lives and works in Kansas City, MO.
Her works have bee exhibited nationally and internationally and with noted achievement. Nicole has been formally trained and received her graduate degree from Chicago University. Her paintings are made with both acrylic and oil medium, in which she adds and subtracts the paint in a long process to build up interesting textures and surfaces. While receiving her graduate degree she experimented in a style that allowed her to make very specific and unique paintings which can be charted mark-by-mark. Nicole has been awarded with a prestigious studio residency from Charlotte Street Foundation's Urban Culture Project, and has taught at KCAI. Commission is thrilled to bring her unique body of work to the Gladstone Community Center.
