Givenik.com, the revolutionary way to go to Broadway (and save the world!), announced today that they are holding a raffle at this year's Broadway Flea Market as part of a partnership Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. One lucky winner will receive a meal cooked at their residence by Ash Fulk, Sous Chef at Trestle on Tenth in New York City. (Ash is currently a contestant on Season 6 of "Top Chef.") The proceeds of the raffle and Broadway Flea Market will support the efforts of BC/EFA. To sign up for the raffle, you must stop by the Givenik table at the Broadway Flea Market on Sunday, September 27th in Shubert Alley (at West 44th Street). At 4:55 p.m. Ash will personally draw the name of the winner. For a full listing of rules and regulations, please visit: http://givenik.typepad.com/.
"All of us at Givenik.com are thrilled to support Broadway Cares throughout the year and especially at the Flea Market," said Jordan Roth, founder of Givenik.com and President of Jujamcyn Theaters. "We hope this raffle makes the day even more successful, and of course, tasty!"
At Givenik.com, theatergoers can give and get (thus becoming "giveniks") by getting discounted tickets to dozens of Broadway and Off Broadway shows and simultaneously giving back to charity as 5% of their ticket price goes directly to the not-for-profit organization of their choice.
At present, more than 225 non-profits (and counting) have joined Givenik.com, from national groups to local chapters, and from arts organizations to educational institutions. Among them are City Harvest, Rosie's Broadway Kids, God's Love We Deliver, Dress For Success Worldwide, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, North Shore Animal League, The Public Theatre, Locks of Love, Gilda's Club, local chapters of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, as well as numerous community PTA's, public schools and temples.
Theatergoers can become "giveniks" and charitable organizations can join the program at www.givenik.com.
