Ginger Baker's Airforce 3 will touch down at The Iridium May 9 and 10. Best known as the founder of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Cream, Ginger Baker is widely regarded as one of the most influential drummers of all-time.
With a changing line up of star musicians, Airforce 1 and 2 were released in 1970 to critical acclaim, and in 2015 after successfully touring with his Jazz Confusion Ginger decided to wear his wings once more with Airforce 3. This career retrospective show coming to The Iridium this May features previous material -from Cream to Blind Faith, to his 1970's albums and his music with Billy Preston - along with exciting new arrangements.
The Iridium's full Winter/Spring 2016 lineup includes Bon Jovi and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes guitarist Bobby Bandiera performing on February 15; Little Feat guitar players Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett on February 26 and 27; the three original members of The Lovin' Spoonful-Steve Boone, Joe Butler, and Jerry Yester- gracing the stage for their 50th Anniversary March 5 through March 6; Brad Roberts of the Crash Test Dummies on March 8; and '80s rock stars John Waite, April 8 and 9, and The Georgia Satellites, April 20 and 21.
Tickets for all shows are available on TicketWeb via www.theiridium.com or The Iridium box office located at 1650 Broadway at 51st Street, 212.582.2121.
