GeVa Theatre Center's 2009/10 Season continues with Almost, Maine by John Cariani, which opens on January 12 and runs in the Mainstage through February 7.

On a cold, moonless night in Almost, Maine, the residents find themselves falling in love in unexpected, hilarious, heart-filled ways. True love comes knocking. Will you answer? Will they? A funny, midwinter romance to remind you how love connects you to someone special.

John Cariani is an actor and playwright best known for his role as CSU Tech Julian Beck on television's Law & Order, and for his Tony-nominated performance as Motel the Tailor in the 2004 Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof for which he received the Outer Critics' Circle Award and a Tony Award nomination. After establishing his career as a stage and screen actor, Cariani began his playwriting career in 2004 with Almost, Maine which debuted at the Portland Stage Company and was named one of the best plays of the year by The Wall Street Journal. In 2006, Almost, Maine opened off-Broadway and has since been produced by some 300 theatres all over the U.S., Mexico, Korea, Germany and Australia.

Geva's production of Almost, Maine features an ensemble cast playing multiple characters. Patrick Noonan returns to Geva where he last appeared in Our Town. Actors David Mason, Alexis McGuinness and Regan Thompson make their GeVa Theatre Center debuts.

Almost, Maine is directed by Geva Artist-in-Residence Skip Greer. The design team includes Dipu Gupta (scenic designer), Pamela Scofield (costume designer), Kendall Smith (lighting designer) and Dan Roach (sound designer). Music has been composed especially for this production by John Zeretzke.

Almost, Maine is co-produced by 100.5 The Drive & WHAM 1180; IKON Office Solutions, Inc. and
