Producers Carmen Pavlovic (Global Creatures) and Roy Furman have revealed new poster art for Broadway's King Kong by internationally renowned artists Laurent Durieux, Francesco Francavilla and Olly Moss.

In an unprecedented move, all three designs will be used in the marketing and advertising for King Kong on Broadway.

The work of the three artists will be given away at comic stores in the New York area on Comic Book Day (May 5) as a collectible edition.

The producers said "We commissioned the work from Laurent, Francesco and Olly because we wanted these three extraordinary artists to provide different perspectives on the show's themes. Each artist comes from a different country - Belgium, the US and the UK - and each uniquely interprets the world of King Kong."

Laurent said "King Kong has always had a very special place in my heart. It's one of the first movies that made a great impression on me as a kid (the Jessica Lange/ Jeff Bridges version) back in the mid 70's. Doing the artwork for a Broadway musical tops it in a way that is unfathomable and makes me proud. New York is one of my favorite cities in the world. To have this show playing on Broadway, just like in the movie, is a wonderful way to come full circle. I just hope it will end better for poor Kong this time (though I doubt it)."

Francesco said "I've been a fan of the original King Kong movie (and the several remakes over the decades) so when I was asked to design a poster for King Kong live on Broadway, I was over the moon! Not only did I get to draw one of my favorite characters ever, but this was also my first time working on a poster for a Broadway show. I had to think BIG, literally! I'm excited to see this out there on billboards around NYC."

Olly said "Working on this project was such a privilege. Who can say no to King Kong in New York? It's perfect. The production looks unbelievable and I'm very proud to have contributed to it in my own small way."

Brussels-based artist Laurent Durieux has been hailed as one of the world's 200 Best Illustrators by the prestigious Lürzer's Archive magazine. He has created a number of award-winning poster redesigns of classic movies including Jaws and The Wizard of Oz. In 2016, he was commissioned by Francis Ford Coppola to create new posters for The Godfather series - as well as the limited edition labels for Coppola's film-inspired line of wines.

Italian-born and US-based artist Francesco Francavilla is an Eisner Award-winning comic book artist who has drawn for DC, Dark Horse, and numerous Marvel imprints including Black Panther. In 2013, he brought a radical new look to Archie Comics with his work on the critically acclaimed horror series Afterlife with Archie. Most recently, he celebrated Black History Month with a series of dynamic portraits of African American athletes.

British-based Olly Moss is internationally known for his bold graphic re-imaginings of the poster art for iconic films including Dirty Harry, The Evil Dead, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Lord of the Ring series. He created the covers for the digital re-release of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, and was commissioned for a limited edition 2010 re-packaging of the original Star Wars trilogy. His work is regularly featured in Empire magazine.

King Kong will star Christiani Pitts, currently starring in A Bronx Tale on Broadway, as Ann Darrow, and Eric William Morris, who played Sky in Mamma Mia!, will play Carl Denham.

King Kong will open at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) on November 8, 2018. Preview performances will begin Friday, October 5, 2018.

Written by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) with a score by Marius de Vries (La La Land and Moulin Rouge) and songs by Eddie Perfect (Beetlejuice), King Kong is directed by Drew McOnie (Strictly Ballroom The Musical).

King Kong comes alive through an innovative mix of robotics, puppetry and stagecraft.

Based on the 1932 novel, the stage production of King Kong is a contemporary take on the classic tale of beauty and the beast. The story follows a young actress, Ann Darrow, and a maverick filmmaker, Carl Denham, as they voyage from the bustling streets of 1930s New York to an uncharted island to capture the world's greatest wonder. At the center of this 21st-century reimagining: a 20-foot high, 2,000-pound gorilla brought to life by a team of seamlessly integrated artists and technicians. King Kong is a larger-than-life encounter with a legend that's always been too big to contain.

Jack Thorne (book writer) received the 2017 Olivier Award and the Evening Standard Award for Best Play for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and wrote the critically acclaimed Let the Right One In.

Director and choreographer Drew McOnie is an Olivier Award winner for the London production of In the Heights and an Olivier Award nominee this year for Jesus Christ Superstar. McOnie directed the U.K. premiere of Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom The Musical, and the recent London productions of The Wild Party and On the Town.

Composer and music producer Marius de Vries (the films La La Land, Moulin Rouge, and Romeo + Juliet) is a four-time Grammy nominee. Eddie Perfect (songs) is a Helpmann Award winner and composer and lyricist of the Broadway-bound Beetlejuice and Shane Warne The Musical.

Pioneering creature designer Sonny Tilders developed Kong for the show, bringing together the worlds of animatronics and puppetry to a degree never seen on stage before. Tilders was honored with the Helpmann Award, Australia's highest theatrical honor, for Outstanding Theatrical Achievement.

King Kong's design team for Broadway also includes Peter England (Set and Projection Design), Sonny Tilders (Creature Design), Roger Kirk (Costume Design), Peter Mumford (Lighting Design), Peter Hylenski (Sound Design), Gavin Robins (Aerial and King Kong Movement Director) and Tom Watson (Hair Design). David Caddick is Music Supervisor.

Casting by Tara Rubin Casting. Additional casting and additional members of the creative team for King Kong will be announced at a later date.

King Kong is authorized by the Merian C. Cooper Estate.
