On Saturday, July 31st German Expressionism and the Jazz Age collide at Crash Mansion with the world premier of The Changing of the Guard, a new music video with music by Nat Osborn (www.natosborn.com). Creator/Directors Julie Congress and Ryan Emmons blend theatre, film, music, dance and puppetry to create a revolution. The premier event is an evening in the style of the music video itself, a fusion of various art forms including an expressionist shadow play by No.11 Productions (www.no11productions.com), dances inspired by the film with choreographer Casey Loomis and her dance troupe, the puppetry of Jen Neads and a concert by Nat Osborn and his 10-piece band with guest appearances by Lyle Divinsky (www.lyledivinsky.com) and Aimee Bayles.
Saturday, July 31st, 2010, at 8pm, Crash Mansion, 199 Bowery, New York, NY 10002. Tickets are $7 at the door.
In the music video, Nat Osborn leads a revolution, which overthrows an old and oppressive regime of oversized guard puppets to make room for a new way of life. Seven sexy mistresses dance their way to Osborn's side as a giant shoe is pulled across the beach, a mysterious girl bathes in the kitchen sink, and a Viking dances wildly in front of his burning ship.
Nat Osborn is a songwriter/composer/performer who has been on the New York scene since the young age of 17. Having played the majority of the famed clubs in downtown Manhattan including the prestigious Knitting Factory and Webster Hall, he continues to regularly grace some of New York's most venerated music halls. Osborn has forged a unique sound that is as lush and rich as it is poignant and clear.
