Gerard Alessandrini, Forbidden Broadway's creator/writer and director,
will host talkbacks after the show on Friday, January 20th and January
27th. The talkbacksw will take place at the 47th Street Theatre, where
Forbidden Broadway: Special Victim's Unit is currently running. A purchased ticket for January 20th or 27th is
required for admission.
Forbidden Broadway "has been an unstoppable force in New York theatre
since 1982 when Gerard Alessandrini created the first parody that
lampooned the Broadway shows and stars of the day. Since then it has
been a favorite among theatre lovers as well as the Broadway stars
themselves Carol Channing, Kathleen Turner, Bernadette Peters, Tommy
Tune, Stephen Sondheim, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cameron Mackintosh,
Hal Prince and Tyne Daley (to name a few) who often stop by to laugh at
themselves alongside their public. Forbidden Broadway has won numerous
awards in its history including the Obie, Drama Desk, Outer Critics
Circle, Drama League, and Lucille Lortel Awards . The musical has also
helped launch the careers of many Broadway performers including Jason
Alexander," according to press notes.
Currently featured in the cast are Jerry Christakos, Donna English, Jeanne
Montano and Jared Bradshaw with David Caldwell on piano.
The playing schedule for the show is as
follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:15pm and Sundays
at 7:30pm, with matinees on Wednesdays at 2:30pm, Saturdays at 4:00pm,
and Sundays at 3:30pm. Tickets are $57.50 on Saturday evenings and are
