Deadline reports that Broadway vet George Wendt and 'High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale have joined the cast of David Kohan and Max Mutchnick's multi-camera currently untitled barbershop comedy pilot for TBS. The actors join previously announced cast member Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is the New Black).

The pilot will center on "a group of kids who ran in different circles in high school but now all work together at Buzzy's Barbershop in Charlestown, MA. Their dreams may lie across the Charles River in Boston, but for now, their work, their lives, their loves and their worries remain in the town they grew up in."

Wendt will take on the role of Buzzy, the barbershop's former owner. He is described as "a nice guy who's always up for a conversation. But he has one tragic flaw: He's an inveterate gambler." Meanwhile, Tisdale will portray Danni, "a barber at Buzzy's who is one of the guys - but she's still totally sexy without really trying."

Wendt most recently appeared in the stage adaptation of Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffanys, and as "Dean Halsey" in Re-Animator The Musical in Los Angeles, the New York Musical Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Broadway Credits include: Elf, Art, and Hairspray. London credits include: Art. Off-Broadway credits include: An Empty Plate At Café du Grande Boeuf (Primary Stages), Wild Men (West Side Theater). National Tour: Twelve Angry Men (Roundabout). Chicago credits include: Rounding Third (Northlight), Second City, Wild Men, Bleacher Bums (Organic Theater Company). His television credits include NBC's long-running comedy Cheers (Six Emmy Nominations).
