Comedy Works is celebrating its 5-year Anniversary at the Landmark -- just a little late (345 days) -- because we did not want to celebrate without our good friend -- George Lopez -- who helped us open the club in October of 2008.

George Lopez is a multi-talented entertainer whose career encompasses television, film and stand-up comedy. For two seasons, Lopez hosted Lopez Tonight, a late-night television talk show on TBS, which represented Lopez's return to series television after co-creating, writing, producing and starring in the groundbreaking hit sitcom George Lopez, which ran for six seasons on ABC.

Lopez has risen to become one of the premier comedic talents in the entertainment industry. His stand-up albums have received raving reviews, one earning a Grammy nomination for "Best Comedy Album" and another for "CD Team Leader." George also has an autobiography titled Why You Crying, which made The New York Times Bestsellers Top 20 list.

Most Recently, George executive produced and starred in the television series Saint George, as well as debuted his third solo stand-up special on HBO. Lopez has also voiced the character "Rafael" in the animated blockbuster Rio and "Grouchy Smurf" in The Smurfs. His other film credits include the box-office hit Valentine's Day, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Swing Vote, Henry Poole Is Here and Balls of Fury. Lopez has made more than 200 television comedy, talk show and hosting appearances, including co-hosting the Emmy Awards and twice hosting the Latin Grammys.

Comedy Works is pleased to announce that George Lopez will be performing at Comedy Works South at the Landmark:
