Tony Award-nominated leading man Gavin Creel's debut solo CD "GOODTIMENATION" has been released.

The CD is currently available as a "limited edition advance copy" with 13 fully-produced tracks; Creel started selling it off his website (by way of a link to cdbaby.com) on March 1st. An "official" release and party/concert will follow in June.

Of the process of making "GOODTIMENATION," Creel wrote, "I spent the summer in Toronto recording this album. It was an amazing creative journey and I am really proud how the album turned out. It is a total representation of who I am...Being from the theatre, I am always interpreting someone else's thoughts and feelings. It's exhilerating to be able to explore my own voice. I feel like I am communicating better, and more honestly now than I ever have. This album is full of a theatrical spirit, but it is delieved through a pop filter. It's totally wild!"

He continues, "Right now, I'm grass roots. I'm looking for a fierce audience to come along with me. I don't have a label yet, so I am counting entirely on sales of this record to keep me going. I decided to do it on my own and reach out to the people who I know the best right now: my audience from the theatre. I am counting on all of them to help me expand to a broader market by taking it to their friends and saying 'buy this music!' I am hopeful that together, we can get this new voice out there into the mainstream. BroadwayWorld is a perfect place to start by saying thank you for all your support....now let's go!"

"GOODTIMENATION" features pop songs that Creel co-wrote with producer Robbie Roth. Track listings follow:

"For Nancy"
"Rocket Ride"
"Don't Break Your Heart"

Creel is a Tony Award-nominee for his star-making performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie; he has since appeared on Broadway in the revival of La Cage aux Folles. He originated the role of Hollis Bessemer in Stephen Sondheim's Bounce and also appeared in the Actors' Fund benefit concert of Hair. Other credits include the national tour of Fame and the off-Broadway production's of Illyria: The Musical and Bat Boy.
