Comedian Gary Owen will bring his fearless and entertaining stand-up comedy act to The Orleans Showroom Nov. 13 and 14.

Owen's comedy career began at a young age after he earned the title of "class clown" while growing up in Cincinnati. After a brief stint in the U.S. Navy as a military police officer, Owen realized that stand-up comedy was his true passion, and after a year of performing, Owen was named "Funniest Serviceman in America." His popularity continued to soar, and with his large African-American fan base, Owen went on to win "Funniest Black Comedian in San Diego."

In 1997, Owen auditioned for BET's "Comic View," and after two appearances on the multicultural comedy show, he landed his own hour-long "Grandstand" show. At season's end, Owen was selected from the year's four "Grandstanders" to be the host. He was also the only white man to ever host "Comic View." Owen continued his rise to stardom in 2011 when he was crowned "Black America's Favorite White Comedian" by EBONY magazine.

Owen made appearances in three Showtime comedy specials in the same year; a one-hour comedy special called "True Story," as host of "Shaquille O'Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam - Live from Orlando," and as a stand-out performer on "Mike Epps Presents: Live From Club Nokia."

In addition to "True Story," Owen starred in two other stand-up comedy DVDs - "Breakin' Out the Park" and "Urban Legend." His latest comedy special, "I Agree With Myself," premiered on Showtime in January.

In addition to stand-up and comedy specials, Owen held a recurring role as Zach the barber on Tyler Perry's "House of Payne." Owen can also be seen on the big screen where he's known for his role as Bennett in "Think Like a Man," "Think Like a Man Too," as well as his recent role as Crazy Cody where he starred alongside Ice Cube and Kevin Hart in the comedy "Ride Along." Owen also had supporting roles in "Little Man," "Daddy Day Care" and "College."

The show begins at 8 p.m, and tickets are available from $39.95 plus tax and fees. Tickets can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming Box Office, by calling 702.284.7777, or by visiting www.orleanscasino.com.
