The Odd Couple's Brad Garrett and Lee Wilkof will emcee the 17th Annual Gypsy of the Year Competition on December 5th at 4:30 PM and December 6th at 2 PM at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52nd St.).

According to press notes, "The event is the culmination of six weeks of fund-raising when shows on and Off-Broadway engage in a friendly competition to see which show can raise the most money for BC/EFA. Awards are presented to the shows raising the most money and to the winning presentation." All proceeds from the competition, which honors the ensemble performers and dancers of Broadway, go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the nation's leading industry based, not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant making organization.

The Gypsy of the Year Competition awards shows for "Best Skit" and for raising the most money for BC/EFA. The Lion King and Wicked won the former honor last year, while Wicked was victiorious in the latter; the show raised $365,918 for BC/EFA in a competition that raked in $2,754,631 for the organization.

Tickets cost $20, $40 and $90 while VIP and Priority tickets cost $200 and $350; they are available by calling (212) 840-0770 or by visiting the BC/EFA offices at 165 West 46th Street, Suite 1300. Tickets are also available at the Neil Simon Theatre on December 5th and 6th.
