As Broadway World previously reported, the hit new Broadway musical An American in Paris welcomes Garen Scribner in the role of 'Jerry Mulligan' beginning Tuesday, March 15. Scribner, who has been performing the role at various performances since June, 2015, replaces Robert Fairchild, who will play his final performance on Sunday, March 13. Scribner will star opposite current principal cast members Leanne Cope, Veanne Cox, Jill Paice, Brandon Uranowitz and Max von Essen who will all continue on with the production.
Scribner will star as 'Jerry Mulligan' on Broadway prior to starring in the US National Tour of An American in Paris this fall along with Sara Esty, who is currently playing 'Lise Dassin' at various performances.
Additional casting for the tour will be announced soon.

Garen Scribner is honored to be making his Broadway debut in An American in Paris. As a soloist with the San Francisco Ballet and artist of Nederlands Dans Theater I, he has created and performed leading roles in works by Jiri Kylian, Lightfoot/Leon, Alexander Ekman, Marco Goecke, Christopher Wheeldon, William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, Jorma Elo, Mark Morris, John Neumeier, Hans Van Manen and George Balanchine. Garen has toured extensively and performed and taught at engagements throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Africa. Commercially, he has appeared with Deborah Cox, Les Twins, Santana, Michelle Branch, and Jennifer Lopez. Garen has received awards from the NFAA and the Isadora Duncan Dance Awards organization for his artistry, and was recently awarded the John Adams HERO Award for Best Broadway Debut 2015. Mr. Scribner earned a high school diploma from the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts and graduated with honors in May 2011 from St. Mary's College, earning a B.A. in Liberal Arts while performing with San Francisco Ballet. He is a co-founder of Dance For a Reason (danceFAR.org), which just produced its 4th annual benefit performance in San Francisco for the Cancer Prevention Institute of CA, raising over $400,000 for the organization since 2012.
Sara Esty made her professional theatrical debut as the Lise standby in the Theatre du Chatelet production of An American in Paris and her Broadway debut when the show moved to New York. A former soloist with the Miami City Ballet, she has performed various works by Balanchine, Robbins, Tharp, Wheeldon, Taylor, Scarlett, Ratmansky, and Peck. Sara received a Princess Grace Award for excellence in dance. She trained at the Maine State School for the Performing Arts, the School of American Ballet, and the Miami City Ballet School.
