The Garden Theatre announces that Open Call Auditions for all adult roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat will be held Monday-Tuesday, February 1-2, 2010 from 6-9pm at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street). Equity auditions will be held for select roles, if needed, on Wednesday, February 3 from 6 - 9 pm. Auditions for children's roles will be held Sunday, February 7 from 2-5pm.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat is the first full-length theatrical production produced by the Garden Theatre and will run from April 23-May 16, 2010. Those interested in technical and support positions are welcome to contact the Garden Theatre at 407-877-4736 or email info@gardentheatre.org.ROLES:Actors should be ready to perform 16 bars (approximately 30 seconds-1 minute) of both a ballad and an up-tempo song. Must provide sheet music for accompanist or karaoke track CD. No monologues required.
Actors should be dressed ready to move, as they will be learning and performing a short piece of choreography.
Actors should bring one headshot/resumé if available.
Actors should know their schedule availability for the rehearsal period of March 15-April 22, plus show dates April 23-May 16, 2010.
CHILDREN:
Must be age 8 and up.
Actors should be ready to perform either "My Country ‘Tis of Thee" or a 30 second song of their choice (must provide sheet music or karaoke track CD). No monologues required.
Actors should be dressed ready to move, as they will be learning and performing a short piece of choreography.
Actors should bring one headshot/resumé if available.
Actors should know their schedule availability for the rehearsal period of March 15-April 16, plus show dates April 16-May 23, 2010. Not required to attend every performance.
Parents should be prepared to sign a Commitment Contract which is available for review on the Garden Theatre web site or will be available at the audition.
Located in the heart of historic downtown Winter Garden on Plant Street, the Garden Theatre is operated by the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit community organization which works to preserve local history and offers cultural theatric experiences unique to West Orange County and the citizens of Winter Garden. The theatre restoration project, which began in 2003, showcases an atmospheric theatre in a Mediterranean Revival style venue. The former single screen movie theater hosts live theatre, dance and music, cinema viewings, various community events and educational programs.
