The story of LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD will enchant young audiences this Columbus Day weekend on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Galli's Fairytale Theater. All tickets will be $5 off. The Theatre is located at 38 West 38th Street (between 5th and 6th Ave), 3rd floor, New York, NY 10018
Following this Saturday's performance of Little Red Riding Hood, Galli's Fairytale Theater invites kids and adults to an open house between 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. and offers 15% discount on memberships, courses, class passes, and class packages.
The open house will kick off with a free of charge one-hour kids' workshop conducted by Galli actors at 4 p.m. Kids are invited to act out their favorite fairy tale characters, and dress up in costumes. The workshop will follow a mini performance for the adults.
Parallel to the workshop Dr. Tatjana Maya, Director of the Galli Theater, will present the Galli Method of theater to the adults. She will explain its beneficial influence on children's communication, personal performance, self esteem, emotions, and joy. Light snacks and refreshments will be served at the end of the day.
Playwright, clown, and director Johannes Galli has been bringing fairy tales to kids for almost 25 years. Believing that fairy tales are healing for children, he uses the original story but changes the "grim" version into a humorous play that entertains kids and adults alike and has a fun and educating message in the end. "Everyone feels part of the story," said Johannes Galli. He also believes that fairy tales go beyond religious, cultural, and literary developments and are still relevant in today's society. "Fairy tales are much older than national boundaries. It's our mission to help children and adults to reconnect to the ancient wisdom of these tales and myths," said Johannes Galli.
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD will play October 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31, at 3 p.m.
