Young audiences will be entertained with the story of Princess & the Pea and a Prince & Princess Party on Saturday, February 11, at 2 p.m. at the Galli Theater. Children are invited to dress up in their favorite fairy tale costumes, or choose from Galli's costumes. Galli Theater specialists, who engage kids in fun activities including dances and games, will offer an award for the best costumes. On Sunday, February 12, the theater will resume with the the story of Princess & the Pea at 2 p.m.
All tickets will be $5 off and proceeds of ticket sales will benefit "Dr. Fairytale," a program that combines acting and storytelling to help sick children overcome anxiety and self-doubts. As part of the Dr. Fairytale Program the theater pays regular visits to the Ronald McDonald House, where cancer stricken children can enjoy fairy tale performances. "Never have I seen kids stand up and fight for their ideas as during these fairy tale performances," said Fordham Murdy, the Program Manager at Ronald McDonald House NY. Princess and the Pea is an uplifting remake of the original Brothers Grimm story about a romantic prince who travels the world to find a true princess to marry. Many fake ones come to impress him but only the royal princess pea test will reveal the truth. Kids are invited to interact with the actors during this musical show.
