The Gallery Players announces cast and crew for its fall production of Little Shop of Horrors. Directed and Choreographed by Joe Barros (2011 NYIT Award nominee, Outstanding Production of a Musical, TGP'S Reefer Madness) and produced by Regina Gatti, Little Shop of Horrors opens at Park Slope's The Gallery Players Saturday October 22.

One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, this affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies has become a house-hold name thanks to a highly successful film version and a lively Motown rock ‘n' roll score by the legendary songwriting team of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. Charming, tuneful, and hilarious, Little Shop of Horrors is campy, tongue-in-cheek fun.?
Little Shop of Horrors stars Phillip Jackson Smith* (Oklahomo, NYMF; ...Spelling Bee) as Seymour and one of Time Out New York's"top ten local women every gay man should know - and become obsessed with," cabaret personality Emily McNamara, as Audrey. Ms. MacNamara's Off Broadway credits include My Big Gay Italian Wedding, Awesome 80's Prom and My First Time.

Little Shop of Horrors features Ryan Hilliard* (OFF B'WAY: See Rock City, and Other Destinations; Grey Gardens, DC Studio Theatre) as Mushnik, Paul Sadlik* as Orin, and Tamala Baldwin, Debra Thais Evans (NAT'L TOUR: Hairspray) and Vasthy Mompoint* (BWAY: Mary Poppins, Good Vibrations) as Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon. Babs Rubenstein* (Fat Camp) will voice the infamous Audrey II and the puppeteer is Thomas Bradfield (TV: Johnny and the Sprites; OFF BWAY: John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean). *Appearing courtesy Actor's Equity Association.
Led by director and choreographer Joe Barros (I Married Wyatt Earp, 59E59 Theatres; Fringe NYC's The Legend of Julie Taymor), Little Shop of Horrors is brought to life by a top notch creative and production team. Says Barros, "Our production will not only be a Faustian re-telling, but will further explore Seymour's relationship with Audrey I and the seductive Audrey II. There are a few other surprises that I am excited about which are sure to make this incredible musical feel fresh." Regina Gatti is the producer on behalf of The Gallery Players.

Puppet Designers Fergus J. Walsh (The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, Edinburgh International Festival) and Michael Bush will reconceive the original plant puppet designs; Lilli Wosk is the Music Director. The Set Designer is Harlan Penn, Costume Designer is Ryan Moller (2011 NYITAward, Outstanding Costume Design, TGP's The Drowsy Chaperone), Lighting Designer is Dan Jobbins (TGP's Like You Like It), Sound Designer is Ann Warren and the Props Master is Laura Merrill.
