The Winter Mix is a group show with a wide collection of new paintings and sculptures. This week we focus on two figure based artists: Carole Feuerman

Carole Feuerman is a world renowned sculptor whose works have been showcased in numerous exhibitions including the Venice Biennale, the Australian Biennale, the State Hermitage in Russia, the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation in Italy, the Kunstmuseum Ahlen in Germany, and the Amarillo Museum in Texas. She has been honored with six museum retrospectives. In 2012 the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation began exhibiting her large scale works including the inner-tube sculpture, SURVIVAL OF SERENA, in SoHo.

The sculptures are regarded for their hyper-realism. Gallery Henoch is pleased to feature INNER TUBE II in our Winter Mix Exhibition. The life size piece is cast in resin and then painted. It is part of the now exclusive original edition.
In 2012, Feuerman created a ten foot version based on INNER TUBE II for the Beijing International Art Biennale where it was exhibited at the National Art Museum of China.

Mel Leipzig
This week we feature two paintings by Mel Leipzig depicting Cape Cod based painters Selina Trieff and her husband Robert Henry. Both pieces were painted by Leipzig in 2008 and depict each artist in their own studio. Sadly, Trieff passed away on January 14, 2015. She was an iconic figure in her town and was exhibited throughout the United States, reviewed by the New York Times and collected by the Brooklyn Museum.

Leipzig's painting of Trieff is part of a series depicting prominent female artists that he hopes to show as a collection in the future. While we often see the results of Leipzig's work behind the easel, he is also regarded as a very able curator. To this end, Leipzig is the guest curator for the current show at the Center For Contemporary Art. Details for the exhibition are below.
