The Acting Company will continue its 2016 John McDonald Salon Series with a reading of Oscar Wilde's beloved comedy An Ideal Husband on Monday, April 18th at 7 PM at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater at the West Side YMCA, 10 W. 64th Street, New York, NY. Single tickets are $35 and include a post-show reception with the cast. The performance is sold out. For waitlist information, call (212) 258-3111 or visit www.theactingcompany.org.

Tony Award nominee Moritz Von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God) will direct a cast including Monique Barbee (Text & Beheadings/Elizabeth R. at BAM), Gabriel Ebert (Tony Award Winner, Matilda the Musical), Patricia Hodges (Born Yesterday), Joshua Johnston (Hamlet for The Acting Company), Dakin Matthews (Waitress the Musical), Kevin Orton (Amadeus on Broadway), Amelia Pedlow ('Tis Pity She's A Whore at Red Bull), Flor de Liz Perez (Comedy of Errors at The Public), Angela Pierce (The Norman Conquests), Liv Rooth (Venus in Fur), David Turner (On A Clear Day...) and Michael Urie (Buyer & Cellar, "Ugly Betty").

Wilde's wonderfully witty story of romance, insider trading, and scandal explores morality and the higher standard that seems to fall upon those individuals in the public eye.

The Salon Reading Series concludes on May 16th with The House That Will Not Stand by award-winning playwright Marcus Gardley, to be held at the Culture Project. Gardley will also direct.

2016 marks the 20th anniversary of The Acting Company's John McDonald Salon Reading Series. The Salon Series offers New York audiences a range of works that are thematically linked to the company's repertory season and first opportunities to see works that are being considered for future production.

Founded by John Houseman and Margot Harley in 1972 from the first graduating class of the Juilliard Drama Division, The Acting Company has toured to 48 states and 10 foreign countries, presenting 143 classic and new works while garnering a Tony Award for Excellence in Theater, among other honors. Kevin Kline, Rainn Wilson, Patti LuPone, Frances Conroy, Jeffrey Wright, Harriet Harris, David Ogden Stiers, Keith David, Hamish Linklater and Jesse L. Martin are among the more than 400 performers who began their careers on tour with The Acting Company. The Acting Company serves a mission of providing opportunities for gifted early-career theatre artists; strengthening the ties between the academic and professional theatre; and fostering a discerning audience for theatre across the country, often in communities that would otherwise lack access to quality arts programming.
