GUSTAFER YELLOWGOLD'S SHOW - a multimedia "musical moving storybook" concert experience for all ages - will celebrate the melting of this year's record-breaking snow and welcome the coming of the sun to NYC with a "Welcome Springtime!" show for all ages at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17 in the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th St., NYC.
At this performance, the splendid Yellowgold Band will be enhanced with the addition of a string duo and french horn, creating a fuller, richer, "soft-rockin'" sound for Morgan Taylor's story-songs about Gustafer (a friendly fellow who came to Earth from the sun). Performing alongside a large screen displaying vividly colored animations with karaoke-style subtitles, Taylor and the band will welcome springtime with an array of Gustafer seasonal favorites, including "Beard for All Seasons," "Birds," "Getting in a Treetop," and "Pinecone Lovely."Named "Best Kids' Performer" by New York Magazine, Morgan Taylor developed the Gustafer Yellowgold experience as equal parts pop rock concert and minimally animated movie. Gustafer lives out an explorer's life in a slightly psychedelic version of the Minnesota woods, where he resides in a cottage with his menagerie of friends, including a pet eel, a tuxedo-wearing pterodactyl, and a dragon named Asparagus who inhabits the fireplace and loves corn on the cob. For recreation, Gustafer enjoys jumping on desserts, especially cake.
Gustafer Yellowgold is not just for kids! Possessing an unusual crossover appeal, GUSTAFER YELLOWGOLD'S SHOW has performed as the support act for Wilco and The Polyphonic Spree. Gustafer recently made his off-Broadway debut in a new production, Gustafer Yellowgold's Mellow Sensation. Tours to performing arts centers, concert halls, theatres, festivals, museums, libraries, and cinemas have taken Gustafer across the U.S., the U.K., and even to Korea.Visit the Gustafer Yellowgold website at www.gustaferyellowgold.com
