Gregory Charles will be playing the Café Carlyle in The Carlyle Hotel, 35 East 76th Street at Madison Avenue, on April 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 at 8:45 p.m.

About the show: "Tapping into a seemingly endless repertoire, Charles -- on piano and vocals, and backed by a band of young masters of diverse musical styles -- artfully blends songs from an astonishing spectrum of eras, idioms and cultures. Each of the music- and era-spanning shows he spontaneously creates is one-of-a-kind."

“I see the Carlyle as perhaps the most intriguing venue of all,” Charles comments. “Sophisticated, international, musically rich, I think this room will be a melting pot that is both classically New York and like nothing we’ve seen before.”

Gregory Charles has performed Canada, Paris, London, New York, Latin America and Japan. He currently stars on Canadia reality talent show Star Académie. In December 2002, after touring with Céline Dion as her opening act on her Let’s Talk About Love tour, Charles went in a new direction with his first one-man show, “Black and White.” The show sold more than 750,000 tickets over a record-setting 43-show run at Montreal’s Bell Centre. The same show was presented at the Winter Garden in Toronto, and at the Beacon Theater in New York.

Joining Charles is his Montreal-based band, which includes Jean-Bertrand Carbou on bass, Samuel Joly on drums, and Jean-Benoit Lasante on guitar.
