Director Richard L. Bare, who helmed episodes for the original series, has the rights alongside Oscar winner Phillip Goldfine (The Lady In No. 6) via Hollywood Media Bridge. The team is on the look-out for a writer and a director for the film.

Jay Sommers created and produced GREEN ACRES beginning in 1965. It was based on the 1950s radio show of the same name and starred Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor as the Douglases, a couple transplanted from New York City to a farm in the country.

The series is known for its rotating cast of quirky supporting characters, including the Mr. Eustace Haney the con-man, neighbors Fred and Doris Ziffel and their "son" Arnold, who is a pig, general store owner Sam Drucker, farmhand Eb Dawson, county agent Hank Kimball, the haphazard and argumentative carpenter "brothers" Alf and Ralph, and more.

The show ran through 1971 on CBS and can still be seen in syndication.
