Broadway's Morgan James, currently in rehearsals for the upcoming Broadway revival of Godspell (in which she'll sing the popular "Turn Back, O Man") will be performing live with her band at NYC's Rockwood Music Hall (196 Allen Street) on Wednesday, September 28 at 11pm. The concert is FREE with NO COVER CHARGE.
Originally from Idaho, Morgan attended The Juilliard School in New York City where she received her BM in Voice.
Morgan comes to "Godspell" directly from the original Broadway casts of Frank Wildhorn's "Wonderland" (where she covered Alice), and "The Addams Family", starring Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth. Most recently she was seen as Sarah Brown in "Guys and Dolls" at Barrington Stage Company, directed by Tony Award winner, John Rando. As a solo artist, she has played to sold-out audiences throughout New York City with her seven-piece band, and is working on an album.
Recently she starred in "The Rock Tenor" with Broadway's
Rob Evan. Morgan was a featured soloist in Bernstein's "Mass" with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, performing at
Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center, and can be heard on their Grammy nominated recording (Naxos).
