The Tony Award-winning Best Play, GOD OF CARNAGE, will play its final performance today, June 6. GOD OF CARNAGE recently marked its 400th performance on Broadway at the Jacobs Theatre.

The production was previously announced to end its run on June 27. On the announcement, the producers said "In looking at business for late June, we realized June 6 is the right time to end this glorious run of Yasmina Reza's Tony winning play. We are incredibly proud and thrilled with the success of Yasmina's brilliant play, Matthew Warchus' superb direction, and the acting talents of our three amazing casts. GOD OF CARNAGE has delighted thousands of audiences and we couldn't be happier."

The play now stars Dylan Baker, Jeff Daniels, Lucy Liu and Janet McTeer. The original Broadway cast starred Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden (3/2/09-7/26/09 and 9/8/09-11/14/09). The second cast starred Christine Lahti, Annie Potts, Jimmy Smits and Ken Stott (11/17/09-2/28/10).

After receiving rave reviews in London, GOD OF CARNAGE opened on Broadway March 22, 2009 to unanimous praise.

Jeff Daniels originated the role of 'Alan' in the original Broadway production of GOD OF CARNAGE, for which he received a Tony nomination. In a rare casting twist, he returns to the show to play the role of 'Michael.'

Janet McTeer created the role of 'Veronica' in the London premiere of the play. Ms. McTeer is appearing with the support of Actors' Equity Association. The producers gratefully acknowledge Actors' Equity Association for its assistance of this production.

The Yasmina Reza comedy won the Tony Award for Best Play, Best Direction of a Play (Matthew Warchus) and Best Actress in a Play (Marcia Gay Harden). GOD OF CARNAGE also won the 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.

GOD OF CARNAGE is a comedy of manners without the manners. The play deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it.

GOD OF CARNAGE reunites the creative team that staged the Tony Award-winning Best Play, Art. Designed by Mark Thompson (sets and costumes), with lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker & Chris Cronin, the play has music by Gary Yershon.
