The producers of Glengarry Glen Ross have announced a new opening press date to account for cancelled rehearsals as a result of Hurricane Sandy. With several other Broadway shows slated to open in the coming weeks, and taking the week of Thanksgiving into account the new opening press date will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 with a review release date of Monday, December 10, 2012.

The producers also announced today that the limited run at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) will be extended through Sunday, January 20, 2013. Also, to accommodate demand for the show three additional performances have been added: a matinee performance on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, and two performances in December to be determined shortly.

Tickets may be purchased at Telecharge.com, by calling (212) 239-6200 or at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre Box Office.

The cast is led by two-time Tony Award winner Al Pacino, who is joined by Tony nominee Bobby Cannavale (The Motherf**ker with the Hat), Tony nominee David Harbour (Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), Tony nominee Jeremy Shamos (Clybourne Park), Emmy Award winner Richard Schiff (“The West Wing”), John C. McGinley (“Scrubs”) and Murphy Guyer in this revival of David Mamet’S acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning drama. Tony Award-winning director, Daniel Sullivan (The Merchant of Venice, Proof) directs.

This production marks the 30th year anniversary of the play, which Mamet wrote in 1982. It premiered in the 1983-1984 season at the Royal National Theatre in London. That same year, it made its American debut at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre before moving to Broadway’s Golden Theatre where it ran for a total of 378 performances.

The stakes are high at a fly by night Chicago real estate office: 1st prize- a new Cadillac, 2nd prize- a set of steak knives, 3rd prize- you’re fired! Glengarry Glen Ross slices to the core of the American dream and exposes the depths people will go to stay on top of the game. Mamet himself worked in a real estate office in Chicago in 1969 setting up appointments for salesmen, and the play is influenced by the cutthroat politics he encountered.

Glengarry Glen Ross has set design by Tony Award winner Eugene Lee (A Streetcar Named Desire, The Homecoming, Wicked), costume design by Tony Award winner Jess Goldstein (Newsies, The Rivals, The Merchant of Venice) and lighting design by James F. Ingalls (The People in the Picture, The Elephant Man, ‘night Mother).

Glengarry Glen Ross is produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, JAM Theatricals, Luigi & Rose Caiola, Gutterman Chernoff,, Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Amy & Phil Mickelson, Patty Baker, Mark S. Golub & David S. Golub, Ken Greiner, Meg Herman, Kathleen K. Johnson, Stephanie P. McClelland, Harvey Weinstein, James Fuld Jr./Kirmser Ponturo Fund, Kit Seidel/Myla Lerner, Will Trice and GFOUR Productions. Richards, Frankel, and JAM Theatricals produced the 2005 Tony Award-winning revival and subsequently worked with Mamet, producing November, Speed-The-Plow, A Life in The Theatre and Race. Along with Howard & Janet Kagan, they are producing the new David Mamet play, The Anarchist, this fall on Broadway.
