Pair up Gleeks, its duet time! This week, the Glee Clubbers pair up to peform duets of their choice to win a free dinner on Mr. Schuester at popular eatery, Breadstixs. At first, usual duet partners Rachel and Finn seem poised to take the competition with their rendition of Don't Go Breaking My Heart, but Rachel begins to feel remorse for always winning and wants to help new Glee Club member, Sam, and Quinn to win to make them feel better about their current situations in life.

However, Kurt seems to have placed a claim in singing with Sam, who he seems to be also crushing on from afar. Finn, seeing the same situation he went through with Kurt on the horizon, tries to talk both Sam and Kurt into dissolving their duet pair. However, it's not till after a long talk with his father that Kurt decides to free Sam to sing with someone else, automatically drawing Sam to Quinn.

Quinn is reluctant at first to listen to Rachel, who is egging her on to sing with Sam.  However, in the long run, she realizes it would be a pretty good idea, even if it is weird that Rachel is eager for her to win. Meanwhile, Santana, who is currently angry at girlfriend Brittany, pairs up with Mercedes and blows off the roof of the choir room with a version of River Deep, Mountain High.  Tina and Mike engage in an argument about the assignment as well as several other issues dealing with being a couple, prompting Tina to appeal to Artie to be her partner. However, Artie has paired himself with Brittany, much to Tina's surprise and shock.

Kurt, without a partner, decides to do a duet with himself, performing Le Jazz Hot from Victor, Victoria. Brittany, in an effort to continue to make Santana jealous, ends up having sex with Artie while trying to work on a duet for the assignment.  Sam and Quinn begin to feel each other out while planning out their duet, which leaves the two of them feeling very uncertain where their true feelings lie.  Rachel and Finn decide to step up their game to sabotage their chances of winning by performing a very inappropriate number, which leaves the Glee Club stunned and offended by their choice of song, dress, and usage of song.

After realizing Brittany has used him, Artie breaks off the duet and their short lived relationship, leaving Brittany sad and alone. Sam and Quinn finally but their slowly growing feelings aside and perform Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat,  which in turn wins them the duet assignment and a dinner for two at Breadstixs.

Sam and Quinn attend their dinner together, again trying to figure out where their intentions lie.  Sam tries to impress Quinn, but fails slowly, and ends up opening up to Quinn about how his blonde hair is really not as real as it seems, something Kurt picked up on early on. Quinn, who had been adamant on this not being a date, breaks her adamancy and tells Sam they are on a date, so the money they won will not be used, because they are in fact on a date. Rachel, realizing how lonely Kurt seems, confronts him and lifts his spirits by telling him how much the Glee Clubbers truly love and support him for he is.  Rachel proposes a final duet, something they both will enjoy, ending with Kurt and Rachel singing the classic Streisand and Garland duet: Happy Days Are Here Again & Get Happy.

Please note: There will not be a new episode of Glee until October 26th, which will be the Rocky Horror Picture Show tribute episode. Let's do the time warp, Gleeks! See you on the 26th
