Harry Shum Jr., who was promoted to a GLEE series regular for the upcoming season, was the guest mentor on THE GLEE PROJECT this week. As one of GLEE's resident dancers, he's there to help the contestants get their groove on to Train's "Hey, Soul Sister."

While Alex opted to channel his inner ballerino and McKynleigh didn't show much by way of actual dancing, it's rocker Samuel who Harry Shum chooses as the winner.

This week, the claws come out during their music video song: MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This." The recording session has some of the cast looking for their rapper energy while Hannah and Samuel butt heads over Samuel's use of Hannah's "skidoosh" phrase - he sticks it into his freestyle section.

While the music video provides its share of standouts (Marissa and Damian especially), it also proves to be too much of a struggle for some contestants and lands McKynleigh, Matheus, and Alex in the bottom three.

McKynleigh is excited to be handed Carrie Underwood's "Last Name" for her last chance audition, admitting that she's sung the song for competitions before. Her experience pays off in the eyes of the judges, with GLEE creator Ryan Murphy telling her that she was great - and dropping the hint that he's looking for a country singer to put into the show.

Matheus, who struggled from a lack of personality, chooses to perform an impromptu strip to Jay Sean's "Down." The, um, surprising move earns him kudos from Murphy for bravery, but doesn't earn him a free pass on his inability to follow directions.

Alex nails the Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston number "I Will Always Love You," but his claim that he threw the challenge and let Samuel win puts a huge dent in his likability in the eyes of the judges.

Despite the high praise from her final chance audition, it's McKynleigh who definitely won't be headed to McKinley High. With only eight contenders remaining, next week the GLEE hopefuls take on duets - and there's sure to be even more drama when the group is split into twos.

From Ryan Murphy, the creator and Emmy® award-winning executive producer of "Glee," and executive producer of "Glee" Dante di Loreto, "The Glee Project" is a 10-episode competition series seeking to find the next star of "Glee" and will award one winner with the ultimate prize of a seven-episode role in season three of the hit FOX show. The series began with 12 extraordinarily talented individuals that were picked from thousands of entries, and an exhaustive nationwide and online talent search.

The series uncovers a unique group of artists from both professional and amateur backgrounds, proving every underdog has a fighting chance at stardom. Each week one contender is sent home through intensive rounds of singing, dancing and acting based on assignments. During the final ‘Last Chance Round,' the bottom three must perform for Ryan Murphy, casting director Robert Ulrich, and choreographer Zach Woodlee as they carefully assess which of them has what it takes to be one of the next new faces of the award-winning show.
