GHOST: THE MUSICAL Announces Online Streaming of Original London Cast Recording, 2/13 - 15

Celebrate Valentine's Day with Broadway's most romantic musical! Ghost The Musical announced today a special opportunity to listen to the London original cast album on Facebook for 48 hours only, beginning at noon Eastern on Monday, February 13th. Additionally, you can bring your Valentine to a special screening of the Academy Award-winning film Ghost on Monday, February 13th at 6:30pm at Clearview's Chelsea Cinema (260 West 23rd Street). Tickets are $10 and available on a first come, first served basis and the evening will include raffles and ticket giveaways. Patrons will also be treated to an exclusive Q&A with members of the cast and creative team of Ghost The Musical featuring original screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, who won an Academy Award for his screenplay.

Ghost The Musical premieres this Spring at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). Previews begin on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Opening night will be Monday, April 23rd. The production will star Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy, who will reprise their starring roles as Sam and Molly, which they originated in London's hit West End production. They will be joined by newcomer Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Oda Mae Brown and Bryce Pinkham as Carl Bruner. The cast will also feature Tyler McGee, Lance Roberts, Moya Angela, Jason Babinsky, Michael Balderrama, JAmes Brown III, Stephen Carrasco, Jeremy Davis, Sharona D'Ornellas, Josh Franklin, Albert Guerzon, Afra Hines, Carly Hughes, Karen Hyland, Alison Luff, Vasthy Mompoint, Jennifer Noble, Joe Aaron Reid, Constantine Rousouli, Jennifer Sanchez, Daniel J. Watts, and Jesse Wildman.

This new musical is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, The Norman Conquests, Boeing-Boeing) and choreographed by Ashley Wallen (The X Factor, Kylie Minogue). Ghost The Musical is created by a team of Grammy and Academy Award winners, with a brand new, original score by Dave Stewart (half of the multi-Grammy Award winning Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror, Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill), with a book by Bruce Joel Rubin (Ghost, Jacob's Ladder, The Time Traveler's Wife), who has adapted his Academy Award winning original screenplay for the stage. This brand new score also includes the iconic song "Unchained Melody," famously performed in the film by The Righteous Brothers.
Set in modern day New York City, Ghost The Musical is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Walking back to their apartment one night, Sam and Molly are mugged, leaving Sam murdered on a dark street. Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and unable to leave Molly, who he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her.

Ticket prices range from $57 to $137 (including a $2 facility fee). Premium tickets are also available. The performance schedule during previews will be as follows: Monday – Saturday evenings at 8pm and Saturdays at 2pm. Beginning, Tuesday, April 24th, the performance schedule will be as follows: Mondays at 8pm, Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesday – Saturday at 8pm, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2pm.

Set and costume designs are by Rob Howell, with musical supervision and arrangements by Christopher Nightingale, music direction by David Holcenberg, illusions by Paul Kieve, lighting design by Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Bobby Aitken, and projection design by Jon Driscoll.

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Film in 1990, Ghost became a blockbuster hit and an instant classic, winning numerous awards worldwide. The film starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Tony Goldwyn and Whoopi Goldberg and was directed by Jerry Zucker. Bruce Joel Rubin's script won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and Whoopi Goldberg won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of psychic Oda Mae Brown.
