Tragedy struck the Mogador Theater in Paris when the building caught fire last night, resulting in the injury of a fireman battling the blaze. The theater is currently home to the upcoming 30th Anniversary Production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's international juggernaut, Phantom of the Opera. Although the fire has since been controlled, a spokesperson for the theater said that it was impossible to estimate how long repairs would take. The fire on Sunday has been reported to have both damaged scenery for the upcoming production and part of the theatre's floor.

In a statement, the theater noted "(It is) difficult to estimate the time needed for the repairs at the moment... we will probably know tomorrow if we will need to delay the performance."

Sierra Boggess, who most recently appeared on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber's newest hit, School of Rock, was set to play Christine in the production, which had an original opening date of October 13th. As of now, no official announcement has been made regarding whether or not the production will continue on schedule, or at all.
