The Muny announced today the complete cast for its production of Young Frankenstein directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, choreographed by Josh Rhodes and music directed by Charlie Alterman.
"This is a deliciously, brilliantly warped company," said Muny Artistic Director and Executive Producer Mike Isaacson. "I can't imagine a funnier group to romp through the deranged world and mind of Mel Brooks."
Joining the previously announced Robert Petkoff (Dr. Frederick Frankenstein), Stephanie Gibson (Inga), Steve Rosen (Igor), Vicki Lewis (Frau Blucher), Jen Cody (Elizabeth), John Scherer (Inspector Kemp / Hermit), and Timothy Hughes (The Monster) are Claire Avakian, Sean Bell, Kevin Covert, Emma Gassett, Grace Hardin, Zachary Daniel Jones, Graham Keen, Emily Kelly, Rachel King, Jacob Lacopo, Ben Lanham, Elliot Mattox, PJ Palmer, Kaitlyn Louise Smith, Sarah Quinn Taylor and Brandon Timmons. The company will also be joined by The Muny kid and teen youth ensembles.
Scenic design is by Paul Tate dePoo III, original costume design by William Ivey Long with additional costume design and coordination by Tracy Christensen, lighting design by Rob Denton, sound design by John Shivers and David Patridge, and video design by Matthew Young. Wig design is by John Metzner and the production stage manager is Bonnie Panson. Young Frankenstein is proudly sponsored by Clarkson Eyecare.
Based on Mel Brooks' 1974 monstrously funny film, Young Frankenstein brings to life the story of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen"), grandson to the infamous Victor von Frankenstein, his hunchbacked side-kick, Igor, a leggy lab assistant, Inga and an old sinister housekeeper, Frau Blu?cher. Upon discovering his grandfather's laboratory, Frederick decides to step into the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors and create a monster of his own. Filled with hilarity and a panache of side-splitting numbers, Muny audiences are guaranteed a scientifically-proven night of thrills, chills and the chance to "Put on a Ritz" all their own.
