Coming all the way from Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, Majo Rivero, 25, has really made a name for herself on the global stage with the "West Side Story" World tour.

At first, Majo wasn't sure about going on this long tour and leaving her groove in New York City behind, but something about the auditions for "West Side Story" pulled her in. Even though the auditions were tough, she felt this amazing vibe from the show and the other performers as well, so she decided to dive right in.

Within 2 weeks, Majo found herself embarking on a whirlwind World tour spanning Munich, Germany, different cities in Japan, India, Thailand, and numerous locations across France. Currently, she's captivating audiences with the cast in Bordeaux, France.

Majo was initially cast for the ensemble, but she's proven her versatility by portraying various characters such as Francisca, Rosalia, Consuelo, and even stepping into the leading role of Anita.  Reflecting on her journey, Majo shares: ""The best part about this experience is that I've grown so much personally. Being around such different people and adapting to a new place every week  really opened my eyes. Plus,  I got to see my family all over the world thanks to the show. I visited my sister in London and my dad in Spain. It's like everything just clicked!".

This experience also served as a confidence booster for Majo, affirming her abilities and training. Portraying diverse roles, from the naïve Rosalia to the spirited Consuelo and the fierce Anita, was a challenge she embraced and conquered with success!

Venturing to Asia for the first time was a highlight, with India providing the most culturally immersive yet rewarding experience, from being featured in India’s Vogue to receiving celebrity treatment, the reception over there was overwhelming. Dublin was not far behind in terms of the affection and interest of the people,  being the cast invited to perform on the famous television program "The Late Show” (to watch this performance click HERE).
Audiences in Japan, and Paris equally embraced the performance, showing up to see it night after night in so many different cities.

Majo's artistic journey began at age 6 in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, following in her sister's footsteps. Her passion for New York City was ignited during her first Broadway experience, paradoxically watching "West Side Story." Meeting Broadway star Karen Olivo during that trip solidified her resolve to pursue performing arts education in Michigan and Chicago before making NYC her home.  She moved to the Big Apple without any job offers, yet quickly found herself immersed in productions like "In The Heights" in Long Island, under the guidance of Stephanie Klemons, associate choreographer of Hamilton. Additionally, she graced the stage in concerts at Joe's Pub featuring "Desaparecidas," a work by Jaime Lozano. Another notable performance was in "Little Duende," showcased at a musical theater festival. It wasn't long before the opportunity to audition for "West Side Story" presented itself.

Looking forward, Majo has some cool stuff coming up. She's going to put on a show at 54 Below on May 28th with the crew from "West Side Story" World Tour. It's gonna be awesome!
