Free People is set to launch a new line of products specifically for its four-legged friends. Free People Pet Project, a unique line of pet gear from the animal-friendly brand, includes collars, leashes, beds, and tags for cats and dogs. The line has been carefully curated to include items that are made to feel as special and deserving as the animals that they will belong to.

The brand partnered with a variety of artisan pet gear producers to ensure quality craftsmanship in the line. Items produced by Found My Animal, PACO, and See Scout Sleep are made entirely in the US, while Found My Animal products are constructed of recycled and reused materials. In addition, the vendor’s ropes are handmade by professional New England rope-makers, hand-sliced to withstand thousands of pounds of pull. The marine grade all weather rope is whipped at the ends for additional durability. Lastly, the assortment features See Scout Sleep beds made with hypoallergenic and eco-friendly materials such as hemp fabric, sustainably grown fibers, and natural water-based dyes and screen-prints.

Free People has photographed the Pet Project collection on rescued and adopted animals to promote its coinciding partnership with PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society). One hundred percent of proceeds from the Vintage Flag Bed, made with recycled and reused materials, will be donated to the non-profit. PAWS is Philadelphia's largest no-kill shelter and operates a low-cost Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic. Through its adoption locations and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals per year.

Pet Project includes all styles bohemian, from bright and eclectic to rugged and tomboy. Must-haves within the collection include a quilted patchwork bed, colorful pink and blue overdyed rope leashes, and high-quality beaded and studded leather collars. Tags are offered to personalize the collars with etched sayings such as, “born to run,” and, “wild thing.” Lastly, it wouldn’t be a Free People pet line if it didn’t include a cat teepee; the perfect little home for kittens to curl up.

The line launches with 8 bed, 10 collar, 3 leash, and 4 tag styles that will be available online exclusively at FreePeople.com. Many items come in multiple colorways and prices range from $12-$300, with products generally running in sizes S-L.
