The Franklin Performing Arts Company is pleased to announce that the 2nd annual "Whatever Theater Festival" is planned for Wednesday, July 29th through Saturday, August 1st. The first production of the Whatever Theater Festival is a medley of one-act plays which will presented at Franklin School for the Performing Arts , 38 Main Street, Franklin, on Wednesday evening, July 29th at 8:00 PM. This wonderful collection of short plays range from silly and strange to mysterious and thought provoking. Tickets for these performances can be purchased at the door and are $10 per adult and $5 per student.

The second production in the 2009 Whatever Theater Festival is a presentation of Shakespeare's MacBeth on the Franklin Town Common on Thursday, July 30th and Friday, July 31st at 8:00 PM. Both productions that take place on the Town Common are free and open to the public. Macbeth is considered the most concise, yet darkest of Shakespeare's four tragedies. It tells the tale of the heroic Scottish general, and his successful but ill-fated quest for the throne of Scotland. In the play, Macbeth (Nick Paone of Franklin) and fellow general Banquo (Alex Vita of Mansfield) are visited by three witches, who prophesy that Macbeth will become Thane (Lord) of Cawdor and then King of Scotland. As first part of the prophesies begin to come true, Lady Macbeth (Hallie Wetzell of Franklin) persuades her husband to murder King Duncan (John Williams of Medway) and become King sooner, rather than later. This bloody deed sets off a series of more bloody deeds, as Macbeth's ambition and quest for power grows. Believing to be invincible, Macbeth faces off with Macduff, (Bill O'Neil of Franklin), and is ultimately defeated.

Cast members from Franklin are Jocelyn Jones, Jake Jones, Kellie Stamp, Guy Rezendes, Meg Charbonnier, Avery McStay, Ed Jones, Giovanna Ferri, Galen Hancock, Wendy Jones, Katie Bucella, Ali Funkhouser and Ali Lawler. Additional cast members include Emily Peduto, MAddie Williams, John Williams and Ann Williams of Medway, Lilia Smythe and Corinne Falotico of Wrentham, Samantha Millette, Elaine Shaw and Georgina Shaw of Norfolk, Katie Ryan of Millville, Andrew Holmes of Holliston, Paige Martins of Southborough, Ali McCurdy of Medfield and Jacquie Hurley of North Attleboro.
