Broadway and Hollywood actress Frances Conroy has revealed exciting new details about her role on the upcoming third season of the mega-hit FX horror anothology series AMERICAN HORROR STORY, confirming that filming will commence in New Orleans later this year.

The onetime SIX FEET UNDER star stated that the series will start shooting this Summer, set for a Fall premiere. After all, what would Halloween 2013 be without some terrific terror as only American Horror Story can do?

Conroy says, "It's going to start up again in July or August in New Orleans, I'll be part that and will have a fairly substantial part in it."

She will have an expanded role from that of her role of the little-seen Angel Of Death (and inmate) in Season Two, subtitled ASYLUM. "I'll be in 10 of the episodes of what I think will be a 13-part season. That will be interesting to see what's written, the writers are so good and I can't wait to see where it goes."

While Conroy was reluctant to confirm the theme or more specific storyline details about the purportedly witch-themed third season, she did add that, "I know there's been a little bit of teasing, they're trying to keep it all hush hush so there are surprises. I'm interested in seeing what world we'll inhabit."

Conroy joins recently confirmed S3 guest star Kathy Bates, in addition to returning American Horror Story headliner Jessica Lange. Series regulars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe and Dylan McDermott will also appear on the upcoming season of the series.

No confirmation has been given insofar as what the new season will center upon, though many fans assume witches may be involved. Murphy has only stated it will have copious amounts of "glamour" in his discussion of the new season, which is set to premiere in October.

The original story is located here.

There will be some major stage pedigree on the small screen come Fall thanks to these Broadway and Hollywood heavyweights joining together to cast a spell over us.

Paulson currently appeares in the Broadway revival of Lanford Wilson's TALLEY'S FOLLY, while Lange has scored in a number of stage roles over her long career - most recently in THE GLASS MENAGERIE opposite Paulson, incidentally.

Bates previously appeared onstage in a number of significant productions throughout New York in the 1980s, most notably her Tony-nominated work in Marsha Norman's Pulitzer Prize-winning 'NIGHT MOTHER, COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN (directed by Robert Altman) and Lanford Wilson's FIFTH OF JULY, as well as her work Off-Broadway in Terrence McNally's FRANKIE AND JOHNNY IN THE CLAIR DE LUNE.

Frances Conroy has appeared on Broadway numerous times, including in THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE, OUR TOWN, SECRET RAPTURE, IN THE SUMMER HOUSE, BROKEN GLASS, THE LITTLE FOXES, RING ROUND THE MOON and THE RIDE DOWN MT. MORGAN.

So, are you ready for a coven-centric Season Three? What should the subtitle be?
