Variety reports that producer Manny Fox is setting up plans for a new musical, "Family Fortune," to make its way to Broadway via New Orleans. The production has music by Puerto Rican musician Alberto Carrion, with pop musician-producer Nile Rodgers ("We Are Family," "Like a Virgin") onboard as co-composer and producer of the score.

The musical has a book by Fox's wife, Cinda Firestone Fox, who based the comedy loosely on her own experiences as a member of the family that began Firestone Tire and Rubber.

Family Fortune, is about a Puerto Rican family's in fighting over who should inherit the family fortune

Manny Fox has enjoyed a long and illustrious career in various fields. He is often credited as being the first successful compiler of music anthologies and is able to boast over 24 hit compilations and 6 multi-platinum selling compilation records including artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Steppenwolf, The Who, Bing Crosby, and Louis Armstrong. Manny has also enjoyed success penning short stories and articles, and even co-hosting Puerto Rico's only English language radio station Radio WOSO. For all the critical acclaim he has received in these varied areas, Manny Fox is perhaps most renowned for his prestigious career as a producer and director of hit Broadway musicals.

One of his latest success stories is the groundbreaking production of Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies. Not only did Sophisticated Ladies prove to be a massive Broadway hit but it led to 5 national and international music tours and was the first and only Broadway musical to be broadcast live on Pay-Per-View TV while also being released as a special DVD; another groundbreaking success for Manny Fox's portfolio.
